CLIMATE ART and PALOOZAS
ON GLOBEMENTUM
ON GLOBEMENTUM
On occasion, we publish art pieces and plays on words (what we call ‘paloozas’) that relate to climate change, to its consequences, or to the human resolve that can turn this phenomenon back, and change life on Earth for the better, for us all. Paloozas relate not to exaggerated occurances, but to the quantities of all kinds of climate harming substances that are multiplying at such crazy levels like there is no tomorrow. Indeed, we have yet to see whether there will be a tomorrow—it depends only on us, humans.
TODAY …
AND tomorrow?
AND tomorrow?
THE QUESTIONS:
- An overused ball? A breaking‑down globe? A deteriorating Earth?
- Do we want to see the point of irreversibility?
PLASTICS PALOOZA
ABOUT THIS PALOOZA:
- Plastics palooza refers to the immense amount of plastic products that have accumulated (and continue to accumulate) in the Pacific Ocean—also known as The Great Pacific Garbage Patch. It covers about 1.6 million square kilometers (620,000 square miles).
- Although the plastic products are no longer in their original shape, their decomposed pieces (a.k.a. microplastics) continue to exist … because plastic never degenrates. Every piece of plastic ever produced is still with us.

EARTHwise PALOOZA
ABOUT THIS PALOOZA:
- EARTHwise can be interpreted in at least two ways.
- 1. Earthwise … as in ‘We have to consider the consequences and benefits earthwise, not only profitwise.’
- 2. Earth wise … as in ‘Being Earth wise is an essential element in ensuring that people will be able to produce healthy food, and live in a healthy environment.
